Ok, So has anyone ever noticed that House Hunting is a lot like stalking?
A month ago I fell in LOVE with this house not too far from the square in Carrollton. I courted the house for a bit- you know... I drove by slowly and analyzed the front windows and checked out the "goods" (in this case- the neighborhood). Then I thought- Ok, let's take this a bit further, let's take this house out on a date!
So I called the number on the friendly little FOR SALE sign.
A week goes by.
Finally on a Saturday afternoon I got a nibble! Ring Ring " Hello? Yes! Oh, ten minutes? Sure! I can come check out the house in ten minutes..." SLAM! "Matt, wake up! We gotta go see the hoooouuuussseee!" I yelled as I frantically looked for something suitable to wear.
Of course he muttered something like -amerul house jblrues... sleep
So I did what any good wife would do... I left his rump at the hizzy, called my lil sister Alexa (Axid) and hightailed it to the house!
And it was wonderful. The front rooms were grand, the floors are wooden, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, fireplace, galley kitchen, dining room... the list goes on and on. I'm IN LOVE!
So the woman, in this case the neighbor who's selling the house for the owner, says "Hey, if your husband wakes up give me a call and you guys can come back by."
So naturally I went home and yelled for matt to get on over to the house! And he LOVED it too.
She said she would call us once the owner had it appraised and had a list of the info on the house. I was ecstatic! Actually at first matt was all "we have to see what we can do melinda, we need to make sure it's in our price range." And when we left the house he says to me "let's make this happen. I want that house!"
A week went by. no call from the lady about the house.
two weeks- nothing
week three I took matters into my own hands. I called. I left a message.
WEEK FOUR- Still no call back so I CALLED AGAIN- Left a message.
Last week I found myself walking around the neighborhood towards the house. My mom and I wanted to go the square but instead I led her straight to the house. And just as we were walking up on the house the neighbor pulled out of her drive way. So naturally I panicked! What should I do? The neighbor will totally recognize me! OMG OMG OMG! So I turned my back to her and pointed across the street up at the trees and said some mumbo jumbo about how the neighborhood had nice trees. And my mom played along for a second until she realized she had no idea what the jimney cricket I was talking about.
I was mortified. The Neighbor TOTALLY caught me stalking the house. You should see it, you'd totally stalk this house too.
Maybe now we'll never get it. :(
I just pray we find the right one soon! I was so hoping we'd find one before July so we didn't have to re-sign our lease. God has a plan. I'm just curious to know if it involves this house!
Just thinking about you recently! :) Miss you.
