The Kid's sick...

Banana Wars

Now that the Kid has been sick...oh? You didn't hear? Yeah the kid chameleon is down for a couple of counts. Waterpump failure. YOU DIDN'T HEAR THE STORY?!? Ok, I'll tell you...the short version.

A couple of weekends ago i was on my way to Columbus to celebrate my friend Heather's Birthday. Kelly Clarkson Blaring, (She's coming to columbus DEC 10th! CAN'T WAIT) and my hair blowing in the wind... I was making great time to get there just before Heather arrived - we were throwing her a surprise birthday lunch! Just me, the open road and the.... the red flashing light on my dashboard?? Oh Crap! I had to pull over so my car wouldn't overheat. No phone service, not a soul in sight, and feeling really desperate I just waited for the car to cool down and hoped that I could make it a little further down the road where I'd have some reception. So I jump in the car... red light flashing again...fate, or really should I say a blessing from God, made me pull over in front of the nicest lady's house.

I was a little nervous because she had about 12 dogs - all barking inccesently, and a bunch of very firm "BEWARE OF DOGS" signs. To me that says " I've got Mini Kujo's" everywhere! Before I got out of the car I just sunk down in my seat feeling defeated. "Shhh doggies, shhh... " I thought. I popped my hood and pranced back and forth in my dress...and pretended I had some idea of what I was doing. Until finally the sweetest lady peeked her head out amongst all the crazy dogs and asked "hey, do you need some help?" I was like "THANK GOD!" She let me use her phone, I called matt and my friends in Columbus to tell them what was up. About 2 hours later Matt finally showed. The lady, Becky - I think her name was - said, "I'm so so soooo happy that you're nice." "NO, I'm so happy that YOU are nice," I told her. Apparently there had been an insane asylum patient who wandered in front her house in the middle of the night. He wouldn't stop screaming bloody murder so she had to call the police to restrain him and take him back to the asylum. And the last time she helped a girl, the girl left her car in front of the her house and she nev came to pick it up....turns out the car was definitely stolen! I bid aideu to Ms. Becky ( i gotta send her a really nice thank you note ) and matt and I finally got my car towed back to Carrollton about 6pm. Its so frustrating when you're like 20 mins from your house but it takes you 5 hours to get back there!

Sooooooooooo because of the kid being out of commission Matt and I have been riding together everyday to work. Have I talked about this before? I like to sing in the morning. Matt likes silence. I like to talk about how im sure he's going to have a wonderful day... he likes to scowl. I like to eat breakfast, any food before like 9am makes matt want to hurl. We're total opposites. Well just about every morning I eat a banana. Good source of potassium. Easy to prepare (step 1: peel, step 2: eat) AND tasty. It definitely fulfills all the requirements I have for a breakfast food.

The first time I ate a banana in his car I left the peel in his car...bc i mean who wants to walk into work with a banana peel - shh he'll never notice - I thought. hehehe. I'm so sly.
Not five minutes later I get a phone call, "DID YOU FORGET SOMETHING DEAR?" - Matt.
"HA HA" - I say and hang up.

So the second time I did it... I knew I had to be more sly. I slid it in his console, kissed him and shut the door quickly. Matt whips the car around and drives back to me. "FORGOT SOMETHING!" He laughed as he threw the banana at me. Dang it! He got me!

So this morning I had a genius idea. I'm gonna wrap the peel in a napkin, and put it in the cup that I was drinking out of...and leave it in his Cup HOLDER. A-HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA!
Walking up the stairs to my office my phone starts to ring. "ALRIGHT, What'd you do with the peel?!?! I can't find it anywhere!" -matt says with a defeated laugh. "HA HA! I LOVE YOU!" I really got him this time! :)

What am I gonna do next week? I gotta think of something great, something great and really sneaky! :) haha!
